If we make assumption that core crypto is split 50:50, which is probably wrong but hey – (imagine they lean more towards btc) then btc fell from 6625 to 3700 and eth 232 to 130 (rough numbers). This would mean the $.635 that as in core crypto at end of q3 was worth $.177 (btc) + $.178 (eth) or $.355. As new value as of q4 report is $.56256 then…[Read more]

Bcap has 2 shared investments – Harbor & Circle – with Pantera fund 2(total 34 investments) which is the one up 60%. Given that Bcap only invested in Circle’s most recent round it’s probably safe to assume they’re not cooking the books….Will be interesting to see if anyone took up Kraken on their $4bn valuation round and if/when that feeds…[Read more]

Securitize just raised another round via bnktothefuture at a $40m pre-money valuation which should also help the NAV imminently.

$0.15-0.25 increase is my guess, you?

    • Thanks. I believe that there will be some tokens that will never be registered [owner not qualified as am accredited investor or unaware of registering] and wondering if the value of each token will be affected by the decreased # registered tokens.

@admin, any update on when the upgrade dates will be?

    • A replied 10 months ago

      Reply from email:
The freeze date is this Friday. You should have received a warning about the freeze day earlier this week.

That said I’ve had real issues with the deposit/withdrawal interface so have been interacting with the smart contract directly via MEW.

@admin, does the July 16th Nav incorporate a reval of block.one equity position based on above news or will it be next week?

Interesting change in composition of fund in Q2. Circle investment must have been chunky % of fund as Opensea only raised $2m and bcap weren’t the lead investor. Does explain the reduction in weekly NAV volatility but means we’re going to have to wait for some of the SAFTs to convert to see any material kicker from here. Blockstack seem pretty…[Read more]

JD – couldn’t reply to your post for some reason. It goes without saying the communication from the team here is abysmal relative to other crypto projects and poor relative to traditional finance funds. It would be great if they decided to treat token-holders in a similar manner to their lps in the non-tokenised part of fund who I imagine get…[Read more]

For their VC/equity investments lets say they invest in Series A, they have to mark it at cost until the Series B round of funding at which point they can revalue.

    • Thanks for the clarification David – are you not concerned at all from the complete lack of communication from the team? I just wanted to understand why they haven’t been providing their investors with any sort of updates.

For any of the ico’s where the token hasn’t started trading yet – the 3 I mentioned, they will have to mark at cost, anything trading on exchanges is marked to market – this is fairly standard market convention. I asked someone from the bcap team about this at Consensus:Invest and they confirmed that was their policy but I don’t believe it is…[Read more]

BCAP will start trading on Templum soon which will provide some much needed liquidity…..This token is crazy undervalued when you consider Filecoin, Blockstack and Orchid protocol stakes which will still be marked at entry price. If the filecoin futures on gate.io are even half accurate there is probably about $1 to add to the NAV right there…[Read more]

    • Hi David. How do you know how they are valuing Filecoin etc? I can’t find that information. I would love to know where to find it 🙂

Not part of team but a couple of things – imagine the NAV update later today should be pretty good – am gonna guess $4.5 region.

Secondly as Filecoin tokens have not started trading they have to mark them at cost. If the futures pricing here is remotely accurate – https://gate.io/trade/fil_usdt and assuming filecoin is 5% of fund then you would…[Read more]
